Where do you place them? Typically in the entry way of the seating area, outside the tent or room if it’s a more intimate space. Make sure it’s easy to see and read. Escort cards can also be a fun creative way to show guests to their seat! What style is best? That depends on your budget, full seating boards will WOW your guests, look beautiful in a frame and give us some creative play, while smaller cards pinned on a frame or board can give your reception some personality. Whatever you decide, know it will be a lot of tedious work and planning who to sit where, so try not to stress! We can help you with the creative part and even the frame rental if you need one. Ashley

Expressing gratitude with a thank you card creates a more personal connection that you don’t get with emails and text messages. I personally have a collection of thank you notes on my bulletin board in my office. Whenever I’m having a rough day, I look at those notes and all the positivity and grateful words make me remember why I love doing what I do. Below I’m giving you a few short tips on how to write the perfect thank you note. Address the note with care by writing “Dear _____, “ Express what you are thanking them for in detail. Explain how much you appreciate what they did for you or gifted you, what you love about it and how to plan to use it. Use the note as a way to re-connect with that person again, leave the communication open. Sign off in a loving and friendly manner. Say Thanks again, Sincerely, Best wishes..etc My last tip is to be sincere and write from the heart, you might just brighten someone’s day. Always […]

We bonded chatting about our boys (we both have 2 sons), our great love for weddings, supporting local and our creative passions. We soon discovered we didn’t grow up very far from one another, and we now enjoy the occasional coffee date and business chat. Emily’s work speaks for itself, you can feel her passion in each of her rings and her clients love her attention to detail and the sophisticated yet organic appearance to their heirloom jewellery. After completing our big design project this fall I asked Emily about her experience and business. Today I’m sharing it below as a little Q & A. <3 Enjoy Please take a moment and follow Locusart on Facebook and Instagram. BUDGET Determine which paper items you will be needing for your entire event. This needs to include anything from your save the dates and invitations to your programs, seating arrangement, and table menus. (see our stationery checklist for suggestions). You may desire a lot of items or just a few depending on the size of the wedding you have planned. If you are not sure how big of a budget you should allow for stationery, consult with a stationery designer (like myself) for guidance. Around 70% of your stationery budget will be used for your invitations, and don’t forget to include postage. 2. STYLE Make sure you decide on your theme and event style before you order your invites. Invitations are the first thing your loved ones will see before you walk down the isle so you want to make sure they reflect the day you have planned. Whether you are planning a formal church wedding or backyard affair you want to make sure your invitations suit your personalities and wedding style…your guests will notice the extra attention to detail. 3. Ashley http://www.creativedestiny.ca <![CDATA[Do you need save the dates?]]> http://www.creativedestiny.ca/?p=4626 2016-11-01T14:14:56Z 2016-11-01T14:10:31Z With the Holiday season quickly approaching and it being prime time for your engagement photo sessions, fall is the perfect time to start planning your wedding stationery. Save the dates are the first stationery product you should design after your date and location are set. This is where we will start working together to develop the design concept for all of your wedding day stationery. If you have booked your photographer for a e-session, you may want to consider waiting to send your save the dates cards once you have your photos back so they can be incorporated into the design. Below are some suggestions you may want to consider if you are debating whether you need them or not. • You are planning a destination wedding • You are inviting a lot of out-of-town guests who have to arrange travel plans • You don’t want to be rushed sending out your invitations • You are planning to get married during the busy summer months or on a holiday weekend • You invested in super cute engagement photos and want to show them off to your guests

My business name actually came from a quote I use to keep on my computer wallpaper, “Create your own destiny”. I have done a lot of soul-searching this past year and I finally decided where I needed to be in order to continue on my creative journey. Photo by : Chantal Routhier Photography (www.chantalrouthierphotography.com) I now believe it was fate when Keshia came into my life just over year ago. She is full of energy, genuine, and a down to earth girl. After learning Keshia had recently changed jobs, I asked her to meet me for coffee to chat business. I was feeling drained, stressed and struggling to get work done. Life with a hard working husband, 5 year old, 6 month old and a busy home business had become too much. I admitted to myself and Keshia that I just couldn’t do it all anymore and I needed help! With a happy heart I am thrilled to announce that Keshia is joining Creative Destiny as my assistant and right hand girl. As entrepreneurs we wear many hats and I am ready to […]

I’m happy to say in between all the design work I have been focusing a lot on my growing family. This wedding season has been incredible and I was so blessed to work with so many understanding and patient couples. These days I seem to have a lot less free time for creating but there are some exciting things in the works that will make my life easier and also allow me to focus more for my wonderful clients. (BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON!) Today I want to share with you our new son Henry’s baby announcement. One of my dearest friends Shoshanna Fraser (sfraserphoto.com) has been taking our photos since our wedding day 10 years ago. I am so grateful that she drove all the way from Cape Breton when Henry was a week old to take newborn and family photos and I couldn’t be happier to have them plastered all over our home! She also took the photos of his announcement I designed, which was such a refreshing change to designing wedding invitations all summer. xo ~ Ash
